The community of Nazareth, managed by Caritas Spes, is a center for IDPs, mutilated soldiers, and drug addicts on the outskirts of Drohobych, Ukraine. Once a secret Soviet military base, it now symbolizes Ukrainian resilience and the quest for a national identity amidst ongoing conflict. The center brings together diverse individuals united by war, sharing stories of suffering and hope. This project aims to depict their daily lives, highlighting their struggle for normalcy and national pride. Since arriving six months ago, I’ve been moved by the Ukrainians’ gratitude and hospitality, and this work seeks to share their human drama and desire for peace.

The project “If… you can imagine” is inspired by Rudyard Kipling's poem “If.” It pairs his thoughts on life’s ups and downs with photos from the artist's portfolio, all about resilience.
