Alexandre Dupeyron’s artistic projects have come together in Dysnomia, presented as a book, a live projection mixing his photos with a 60-minute music piece by Thomas Julienne's "Theorem of Joy," and an exhibition where he reinterprets his black-and-white work in color using a gum bichromate process.
We are excited to host an engaging conversation with photographer Sara Lepore, born in Carpi in 1999, delves into the intricate interplay between language, culture, and identity through her artistic endeavors. Her journey began with a deep-rooted interest in communication and new media, which she pursued at the University of Parma. In 2019, she expanded her horizons by studying documentary photography under Lina Pallotta at Spazio Labò.
Get to know photographer Nicolas Dykmans, who’s been capturing powerful and diverse stories since 2022. From prisons and sex conventions to the Mardi Gras traditions of Louisiana and his latest work on Ukrainians living through war, Nicolas dives deep into complex realities. This is your chance to hear his stories, learn about his journey, and chat about what goes into documenting life’s raw moments.
This project, part of Futuri Prossimi in Turin, takes a fun look at family identity. The artist finds what she thought was a love letter to her dad, but it’s really a recipe collection in a language she never learned. This leads to a cooking reunion with her Romanian aunts, where a honey cake hilariously becomes an apple pie. The work explores cultural confusion and how language shapes belonging. During the exhibition, she’ll bake the “wrong” cake to spark conversations about love and connection in cooking.
Join us for a portfolio review featuring esteemed photographers and industry leaders. Notable participants include Hugo Weber, Alban Dejong, Nicolas Dykmans, Gaétan Soerensen, and George Mieluș. This event offers a valuable opportunity for photographers to gain insights and feedback on their work. We welcome all photographers to take part in this enriching experience.
The relationship between a French teenage single mother and her son has always been peculiar. The mother, born in 1983, had a complicated life, facing abandonment and various hardships. Despite a peaceful childhood, their relationship deteriorated due to her severe drinking problem and his rebellious nature. A stroke in 2015 left her with lasting disabilities, transforming their dynamic. Photography became a therapeutic tool, helping them reconnect and fostering new emotional bonds. The project explores the son’s origins and their complex relationship through photography, revealing new perspectives on their identities.
In 2016, the British referendum led to the UK’s departure from the European Community in 2020, sparking debates on national identity and the EU’s viability. Brexit exposed a crisis within the establishment and a breakdown in national hegemony. The photographic project “Shine On,” started in 2019, explores the evolving British identity amid global changes, highlighting paradoxical effects, especially in marginalized communities. It captures a nation in flux, documenting societal metamorphosis through rediscovered landscapes and memories.

In the second year of war, while men are scarce, life goes on in Ukraine. Women wait for their partners, youth face the threat of conscription, and older generations help care for children. Some people hide or can’t serve due to their roles in society. During his visit to Ukraine, Nicolas Dykmans focused on these often-overlooked individuals to show that life continues, even amid the trauma of conflict.
In Cyborg Dolphin Tears, Mihai Barabancea delves into dystopian themes by blending Balkan folklore with retro-futuristic styles and neo-kitsch subcultures. The photobook highlights the intersection of humanity and technology through a mix of traditional textures and digital effects. Barabancea presents an allegory of the post-truth era, where fragmented realities obscure identity and truth, while technology subtly shapes human cognition. Set against deteriorating post-socialist landscapes, his work offers a distinct Romanian narrative that addresses both the past and a future defined by surveillance and technological influence.
Anna Laza’s Metaphysical Body Landscapes blend conceptual photography with the human form, creating striking images that evoke emotions and our connection to nature. Using black and white, she captures the essence of landscapes through the body, exploring themes of life and existence. Her work emphasizes sensuality without sexualizing her subjects, inviting viewers to reflect on the profound ties between humanity and the natural world.

This is the story of ordinary people trying to survive, love, have fun, and make the most of what little we have. We're all connected, sharing a dream of a better life with basic comforts like electricity, food, and safety.
