The title of this series references the Greek deity of chaos. Spanning twelve years of photography, Alexandre Dupeyron’s project Dysnomia weaves together various stages of his work. Structured as a cycle from matter to matter, Dysnomia explores the emergence of human consciousness and its descent into the chaos of speed and urban life. The photograph displayed here comes from a specific series within the project, Runners of the Future. Captured in several megacities, it reflects the dissolution of the self within the verticality and flow of a generic, globalized cityscape.
Known for his black-and-white work, Dupeyron used long exposure times to emphasize movement and create a sense of detachment from reality. The use of this space in Bucharest extends the themes and aesthetics of Dysnomia
