Support the
festival and its vision
Cultural production requires infrastructure. Infrastructure requires stability. It enables artist fees, production budgets, curatorial research, and public access. This is long-term work.
When you support Bucharest Photofest, you join a community that believes photography is more than an art form – it is a way of seeing, questioning, and understanding the world. Running a festival is, above all, a production effort – curating exhibitions, coordinating with artists, managing logistics, and ensuring that every edition is presented to the standard the work deserves.
With an annual contribution of €100, you directly support that work and you become a friend of the festival and a beneficiary of the program.
To show our gratitude
Your support makes our work possible and we want you to experience it firsthand. As a Friend, you will receive:
- Free entry to all Bucharest Photofest exhibitions
- Invitations to private openings, previews, and special events
- Access to online programmes, including conversations with photographers, curators, and industry professionals
- A copy of our annual catalogue – a collectible document of each edition’s work
If the Friends programme isn’t the right fit, you can still support our work with a one-time contribution – whatever amount feels right to you. Every donation, regardless of size, goes directly into making the festival happen. We are genuinely grateful for it.

Shape its future.
Bucharest Photofest operates as an independent curatorial platform committed to the critical study and public presentation of contemporary photography. Sustained by a community of practitioners, artists, and culture lovers, the festival approaches image-making as a form of cultural inquiry — interrogating its historical conditions, its ethical stakes, and its evolving relation to the public sphere.

Romanian tax legislation provides corporate income taxpayers with a mechanism through which a portion of their tax liability can be directed to eligible non-profit organisations, rather than being remitted in full to the state budget. This mechanism entails no additional financial burden for the company – the redirected amount forms part of the corporate income tax already owed, not a supplementary contribution.
The Romanian Fiscal Code establishes a fiscal credit for sponsorship and patronage expenditure. It is important to note that such expenditure is not tax-deductible when computing taxable profit ; however, it may reduce the corporate income tax liability.
Sustain a platform for critical contemporary photography.
Bucharest Photofest operates as an independent cultural platform dedicated to contemporary photography, visual research, and public discourse.
Independent cultural ecosystems do not emerge spontaneously. They are built through long-term commitment, intellectual rigor, and collective support.
Your involvement sustains continuity. Continuity enables depth. Depth allows meaningful artistic production.
If you believe that photography matters – as testimony, as research, as cultural memory – we invite you to support the platform that enables it.

Sharing our initiatives and open calls
When you share our open calls, exhibitions, and public programs, you expand access to artists, curators, and audiences who might otherwise remain outside the conversation. Help us extend the reach of contemporary photography.
Connecting us with artists and institutions
Cultural ecosystems grow through connection.
If you know photographers, curators, institutions, or collectives whose work aligns with our vision, we welcome introductions. Meaningful collaborations often begin with thoughtful recommendations.
Engaging critically with the work we present
Attend exhibitions, film screenings and more. Participate in talks. Question, discuss. Your presence sustains the intellectual rigor of the platform.
