We are excited to host an engaging conversation with photographer Sara Lepore, born in Carpi in 1999, delves into the intricate interplay between language, culture, and identity through her artistic endeavors. Her journey began with a deep-rooted interest in communication and new media, which she pursued at the University of Parma. In 2019, she expanded her horizons by studying documentary photography under Lina Pallotta at Spazio Labò.
By 2023, Sara was not only teaching photography at Mattarella secondary school but also winning accolades, such as the scholarship for the master “Filing the Gap” at Fondazione Studio Marangoni. Her work as a production assistant for DIG, an international festival of investigative journalism, further honed her skills. Sara’s projects, like “Ingrediente pentru un tort de miere, cu dragoste,” showcased at A Pick Gallery and Shado officine fotografiche, reflect her commitment to exploring the power of language and cultural identity. Her debut project, “XEROX,” published in 2022, and her video installation “Erased” with the collective “Brutto,” underscore her innovative approach to visual storytelling.
