Wish You Were Here explores the rise of "last-chance tourism" in the face of the climate crisis, where travelers visit threatened destinations before they vanish. Spanning four continents over ten years, Palmer's work contrasts idyllic vacation spots with the harsh realities of climate change—melting glaciers, rising seas, and dying coral reefs. Her imagery intentionally juxtaposes leisure with the unsettling truth of our environmental decline.

The community of Nazareth, managed by Caritas Spes, is a center for IDPs, mutilated soldiers, and drug addicts on the outskirts of Drohobych, Ukraine. Once a secret Soviet military base, it now symbolizes Ukrainian resilience and the quest for a national identity amidst ongoing conflict. The center brings together diverse individuals united by war, sharing stories of suffering and hope. This project aims to depict their daily lives, highlighting their struggle for normalcy and national pride. Since arriving six months ago, I’ve been moved by the Ukrainians’ gratitude and hospitality, and this work seeks to share their human drama and desire for peace.

In the summer of 2016, César Dezfuli spent three weeks on the Iuventa, a boat run by the NGO Jugend Retter, rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean. On August 1st, he photographed 118 people saved from a dinghy near Libya, aiming to humanize their stories and capture their trauma as they arrived in Pozzallo, Italy.

Born in Madrid, Dezfuli is a self-taught journalist and photographer focused on migration and human rights. His work has spanned global issues, including elections and families defying China’s one-child policy. Since 2015, he has concentrated on the migrant crisis, leading to his project “Passengers,” which challenges how migration is visually represented.
