Wish You Were Here, Sarah Palmer (CA) | Exhibition

Tineretului Park Sector 4, București

Wish You Were Here explores the rise of "last-chance tourism" in the face of the climate crisis, where travelers visit threatened destinations before they vanish. Spanning four continents over ten years, Palmer's work contrasts idyllic vacation spots with the harsh realities of climate change—melting glaciers, rising seas, and dying coral reefs. Her imagery intentionally juxtaposes leisure with the unsettling truth of our environmental decline.

Dysnomia, Alexandre Dupeyron (DE) | Exhibition

Văcărești National Park București

Alexandre Dupeyron’s artistic projects have come together in Dysnomia, presented as a book, a live projection mixing his photos with a 60-minute music piece by Thomas Julienne's "Theorem of Joy," and an exhibition where he reinterprets his black-and-white work in color using a gum bichromate process.

INGREDIENTE PENTRU UN TORT DE MIERE, CU DRAGOSTE, Sara Lepore – IT | Exhibition

Art-an-te Strada Ion Câmpineanu 3, București

This project, part of Futuri Prossimi in Turin, takes a fun look at family identity. The artist finds what she thought was a love letter to her dad, but it’s really a recipe collection in a language she never learned. This leads to a cooking reunion with her Romanian aunts, where a honey cake hilariously becomes an apple pie. The work explores cultural confusion and how language shapes belonging. During the exhibition, she’ll bake the “wrong” cake to spark conversations about love and connection in cooking.

MOIMOM, Hugo Weber (FR) | Exhibition

Goethe Institut Calea Dorobanți 32, București

The relationship between a French teenage single mother and her son has always been peculiar. The mother, born in 1983, had a complicated life, facing abandonment and various hardships. Despite a peaceful childhood, their relationship deteriorated due to her severe drinking problem and his rebellious nature. A stroke in 2015 left her with lasting disabilities, transforming their dynamic. Photography became a therapeutic tool, helping them reconnect and fostering new emotional bonds. The project explores the son’s origins and their complex relationship through photography, revealing new perspectives on their identities.

SHINE ON, Alex Zoboli (IT) | Exhibition

Goethe Institut Calea Dorobanți 32, București

In 2016, the British referendum led to the UK’s departure from the European Community in 2020, sparking debates on national identity and the EU’s viability. Brexit exposed a crisis within the establishment and a breakdown in national hegemony. The photographic project “Shine On,” started in 2019, explores the evolving British identity amid global changes, highlighting paradoxical effects, especially in marginalized communities. It captures a nation in flux, documenting societal metamorphosis through rediscovered landscapes and memories.
