We are excited to host an engaging conversation with photographer Nicolas Dykmans, an emerging talent in documentary and street photography. Born in Brussels and a literature graduate from the University of Liège, Dykmans began his photography journey in 2022. In just two years, he has captured the essence of diverse and often challenging subjects, including life in prison, religious rituals, sex conventions, Mardi Gras traditions in South Louisiana, the European punk scene, and the Roma community of Macedonia.
In this open talk, Dykmans will share his experiences and insights on documenting complex social realities. His latest project, “Those Who Remain Behind,” focuses on the Ukrainian population unable to join combat, capturing their efforts to live amidst the trauma of war.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to dive into the stories behind his work and participate in a candid conversation about his photographic practice, which blends deep curiosity with empathy for his subjects.
