From August 25 to September 15, 2024

On the occasion of the ninth edition of the BUCHAREST PHOTOFEST, we are announcing a unique open call dedicated to young Italian photographers working in Romania or who have completed a project in the country over the past 5 years.

This call, promoted by the Istituto italiano di Cultura di Bucarest, will be part of the Italian T-House curatorial project of outdoor exhibitions in downtown Bucharest, which will take place during the festival.

This initiative is designed to strengthen the collaboration and international reach of our festival and to give a young author the opportunity to showcase their work.

This year’s theme is resilience, but we welcome works of any kind and nature, so we won’t limit our judgment to the theme alone. However, following it will be considered a welcome addition to the evaluation of the work.

We are seeking documentary projects, personal research, and introspective works that explore the contemporary world from the perspective of young authors. We believe in giving space to emerging voices that will shape the narratives and styles of the future.
