Call for Volunteers 2026
Bucharest Photofest reaches its 11th edition: close to 50 events in ten days — exhibitions, film screenings, projections, workshops, artist talks, photobooks, live music, across several venues in Bucharest.
A festival is seen from the front. It is made from the back: from the install, from the mediation, from the hours spent beside a work answering a visitor’s question, from the run to the airport for an artist whose flight was delayed. None of what you see would happen without the people who do that.
We are looking for the crew of the 11th edition.
What we need. We need people on the install, at the front desk, on guided tours, in the screening rooms, beside the exhibitions. What we ask for is attention, punctuality and an appetite for teamwork. The rest you learn on the ground, alongside the festival’s curators and producers.
Students, pupils, graduates, people with jobs who make the time, Romanians and internationals living in Bucharest – all welcome.

• A volunteering contract, a certificate of participation that counts towards university internship credit, and a letter of recommendation on request

• And a few things we’d rather not spoil here. There are usually goodies, official merch, small perks and the odd surprise along the way.
What we expect
At least three shifts across the festival. More is always welcome. Confirm the shifts you commit to, and arrive on time. Let us know in advance if you can’t make it. It happens – what matters is that we know.
