Ștefan Dinu is a passionate self-taught photographer specializing in analog photography, with over 15 years of experience in analog and alternative photographic processes. In 2008, he founded the Allkimik workshop, a space dedicated exclusively to analog photography and alternative techniques. Since 2021, Ștefan has been the founder and president of the Allkimik Photographic Association, and between 2008 and 2021, he served as the CEO of the Allkimik Workshop.
Throughout his career, Ștefan has organized and participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including “Urban Plants” at Readers Cafe in 2009 and “Overlays” at Gallery U in 2022. He has also been a member of the photographic groups “Punctum” and “Prime.”
Ștefan prints his own slides on cibachrome paper and explores a variety of alternative techniques such as cyanotype, gum printing, tricolor gum printing, carbon printing, ambrotype, and albumen. He is also an expert in traditional darkroom development and printing methods for black-and-white and color materials. In 2009, he presented a solo exhibition of large-format ambrotypes (40×40 cm) created with a DIY camera. In recent years, Ștefan has focused on experimenting and combining different techniques to push the boundaries of his creativity.
