Nicolas Dykmanswas born in 1989 in Brussels and graduated in literature from the University of Liège in 2017. Since then, he has been teaching. His practice of photography is quite recent, having only started shooting in 2022.
In those two years, he has documented a wide variety of subjects: prison, religion, sex conventions, the Mardi Gras traditions of South Louisiana, the European punk scene, and the Roma community of Macedonia. He also practices street photography nearly daily, with a special interest in tourism.
His latest work, titled “Those Who Remain Behind,” focuses on the Ukrainian population who are not fit for combat and who try to live with a semblance of normality in the traumatic context of war.
