José Bautista is a composer, multimedia producer, sound artist and documentary filmmaker. He is also the founder of KanseiSounds , co-founder of Altamar.tv Films and member of Unicornis Films. He lives and works in Madrid, Spain.
In addition to creating personal audiovisual projects – in which he developed his own exclusive sound and musical design – he has worked alongside renowned photographers, videographers and agencies in a wide variety of genres (reportage, documentary, conceptual, artistic).
His sound installations have been exhibited in galleries in Spain, Japan, Moscow, France and England. He has also directed experimental documentary works, including “Break In” in 2016, “The Sleeping Land” in 2017, “El Silencio de la Guerra, Damasco” in 2019 and “Indestructibles”, in 2021-2022.
Among other awards, Jose has won 4 World Press Photo Awards for Multimedia with his productions, First Prize Sound & Image Challenge International Festival Macau, First Prize Multimedia at Pictures of the Year International (POYi), First Prize for Best Editing at the SIMA Awards, First Prize for Multimedia at Prix Bayeux Calvados, First Prize at the LENS Culture Multimedia Award, First Prize at VISA Pour L’imageWebdocumentary Award.
