The variety of film screenings featured in our current edition is bound to leave you breathless with excitement! Offering over 10 astonishing films, we’re confident that you’ll be impressed with the diversity of genres and themes on display. Moreover, several of these screenings will even offer a unique opportunity to partake in Q&A sessions with celebrated directors and special guests. Looking onwards, we are thrilled to reveal that our 2023 edition will offer an exceptional array of events, boasting a staggering 50 events spread across exhibitions, film screenings, photo walks, workshops, talks, debates, artist talks, portfolio reviews, educational events, and much more. To top it off, the 8th edition of our festival brings together over 150 local and international artists – photographers, filmmakers, directors, writers and storytellers. With such an incredible mix of talent, you simply cannot miss out on the chance to witness their remarkable works and projects on display. From the various exhibitions and film screenings to the debates and talks, showcases, photography workshops, and live music concerts, there is something for everyone at our festival.

Not only is it a cultural project put forward in the form of a coherently concept, but also it uses photography as an occasion to question some essential sociopolitical and cultural present-day matters, therefore making photography a means of visual learning. Bucharest Photofest is a project that showcases the power of photography to capture and connect individual and collective stories. The festival aims to elevate the standards of photography events and festivals around the world, as well as to establish a professional and artistic benchmark in the current Romanian art scene.
Our team has been hard at work scouting the most creative and talented individuals across the globe to treat our audience to some of the most engaging and insightful presentations. Prepare to have your minds blown with the presence of Mads Nissen, the brilliant photographer from Denmark, who has a unique perspective on the art of capturing images. Ragnar Axelsson RAX, all the way from Iceland, will take us on a journey as he explores the themes of climate change and environmental preservation through his lens. Kiliii Yuyan, the adventure-loving photographer from the USA, will share his awe-inspiring work and passion. The lineup further boasts of the talents of Lee-Ann Olwage from South Africa, Tadas Kazakevicius from Lithuania and many more.
